Today in History: Guess Who's Back?

Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address is one of the most famous speeches given. Today in history in 1863, the famous battle for which Abraham Lincoln's address was named, began. The Battle of Gettysburg started with the two militaries, the Union and Confederate, clashed in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. This battle resulted in Confederate general Robert E. Lee to retreat his troops to Virginia.

When watching movies in America, there are generally four common ratings, G, PG, PG-13, and R (NC-17 is not a common rating in theaters).  In a little bit of interesting movie factoids, the PG-13 rating  was introduced today in 1984. This was added when an original rating of M (for mature audiences) was changed to PG. PG-13 ratings was recommend for audiences over the age of 13 with "a higher level of intensity." Hong Kong back to Chinese rule

On a global scale, today was an important day in 1997, as Great Britain returns Hong Kong to China. Hong Kong became a part of Britain after the the signings of the Convention of Chuenpi and the Treaty of Nanking in 1841 and 1842. This was after the Opium Wars, where conflicting views on opium trade caused battle between Britain and China. Britain peacefully hands Hong Kong back to China, as stated in the Second Convention of Peking where Hong Kong was leased to the UK, lease free.
